Open house offers blood typing, demos

MIDDLETOWN — Have you ever wondered what your blood type is? You can find out at the Bio-Med Tech Society Open House at Orange County Community College from 4:30 to 6:30 p.m. on Thursday, April 27, in the Bio-Tech Building Room 317, on Grandview Ave and South Street in Middletown. To celebrate 2006 National Medical Laboratory Week, the society will offer free blood typing, information about the profession of medical laboratory technician, demonstrations, a chance to view actual slides under a microscope, and more. No appointments will be necessary, refreshments will be served, and there will be free giveaways as well. Throughout the semester, the society invites various speakers to address the club, and occasional field trips are scheduled. In addition, the club sponsors and organizes activities for National Medical Laboratory Week in April, and the annual Pinning Ceremony just prior to graduation.
