Online exhibit celebrates Warwicks contribution to womens history

WARWICK In honor of Womens History month, eight organizations, including the Warwick Historical Society and Albert Wisner Library, collaborated with Hudson River Valley Heritage to create an online exhibit featuring the stories of several 19th and 20th century women.
Women of the Hudson Valley can be found at http://omeka.hrvh.org/exhibits/show/women-of-the-hudson-valley/ and highlights womens contributions to the arts, the professions, reform movements and the home.
Warwicks own Lydia Sayer Hasbrouck, a womens dress reform advocate, is featured, as well as scans of her reform newspaper, The Sibyl. Her stone home still stands on Route 17A just after the entrance to Hickory Hill Park.
The personal stories are supported by primary sources and visitors may enrich their experience by viewing historical documents and photographs found in the digital collections at Hudson River Valley Heritage (www.hrvh.org).
