On Earth Day, it's easy being green

Cornwall-on-hudson Celebrate planet Earth with a weekend of earthly activities, from 11 a.m. to 3 p.m. on Saturday, April 21 and Sunday, April 22 at the Museum of the Hudson Highland’s, Boulevard Location, Cornwall-on-Hudson. Participants will make crafts and origami frogs from recycled products, take a guided trail hike and explore the biodiversity of our earth by visiting live animals. This Earth Day weekend event will provide the opportunity to learn more about Green living through Earth Day exhibits on Organic Gardening and Worm Composting, Resource Conservation, Energy Alternatives and Crafts for Kids. There will also be a special presentation of “An Inconvenient Truth with a Conveniently Local Solution,” presented by Shawn Dell Joyce, at 2:30 p.m. on Sunday, April 22, in the Ogden Gallery. Dell Joyce, who writes the weekly column “Sustainable Living” for the Times Herald-Record, has recently been trained by the Climate Project in Nashville, Tenn. and Al Gore to give his slide presentation about global warming. General admission to the event, sponsored by Taylor Recycling, is $7 adults and $5 children for the public; $5 adults and $3 children for Museum members.
