Older, much older than the history of rock n’ roll

WARWICK — On Saturday, Aug. 24, musician John Sheehan will demonstrate the roots and history of finger-style guitar playing at the Albert Wisner Public Library in Warwick.

The program blends music history with performance. Tracing the history of stringed instruments from the 16th century lute to the modern guitar Sheehan will play pieces from the Renaissance, Baroque and Classical periods to American music including the blues, country, folk, rock and contemporary finger-style guitar.
