Old dance numbers and new


WASHINGTONVILLE — The Joan Butler Institute of Dance’s 33rd annual $12 recital, “Tunes-Old and New,” will be held at Washingtonville High School on Sunday, June 1, at 6 p.m.
Students ages 3 through adult will be performing Ballet, tap, hip-hop, jazz, pointe and gymnastics, along with a vocal number which promises to be quite a treat. The show is produced and directed by Joan Butler, a veteran Rockette and owner, instructor and artistic director of The Institute for 33 years.
This year’s grand finale is “Rock Around the Clock,” with other highlights to include “Wooden Soldiers,” “When Irish Eyes are Smiling,” “Dance Ballerina Dance,” “Wrecking Ball,” “I Don’t Dance,” “Can I Have This Dance," “Shake Senora" and “Let It Go.”
The Butler family will perform ‘ “Cotton Eye Joe.”
Tickets are $12 and will be available at the door or at the studios in Monroe and Warwick.
This year’s recital is sponsored by the Washingtonville High School’s Junior Class.
