NEWBURGH — Mount Saint Mary College will hold an Oktoberfest from 6 to 10 p.m. on Friday, Oct. 21, in Hudson Hall Auditorium. Accordionist Eric Baal and tuba player Nick Pfeister will offer polkas and waltzes. Dancers of the Germania Almrausch Schuhplattler Verein, a German-American club in Poughkeepsie, will perform Bavarian folk dances in traditional dirndls (festive folk dresses) and lederhosen (leather shorts). Guests may get into the spirit of the dances and “schunkel,” link elbows and sway to the music. Baal, who lives in Cornwall-on-Hudson, has performed for audiences at restaurants, concerts and festivals for more than 20 years. He has a website at www.epbsqueeze.com. German food and beer will be available for purchase in a beer garden. For more information, call 569-3179 or visit www.msmc.edu.
