New location for the Art Studio
HIGHLAND MILLS-The Art Studio, which first opened in Monroe in 1999, is now open at 510 Route 32 in Highland Mills. The original concept was to get children exposed to the many different styles and mediums of art, without drawing or painting on their artwork. The studio is now a place where children and adults can be creative in a relaxed, comfortable atmosphere. The staff includes Suzanne Auer, Ellie O’Shea and Danielle Lafayette. Auer, with a bachelor degree in fine arts in gold and silversmithing, teaches the weekday mixed media and jewelry making classes. O’Shea, a certified early childhood educator, teaches Toddler Art, Art Start for ages four to seven years, and Pre-School Explorer classes. Lafayette, a certified art teacher and art therapist, teaches Mommy and Me, Parent and Child Art, adult drawing and painting, and the Saturday mixed media classes for children. The Art Studio had an Open House on Saturday, Oct. 1. For more information, call 928-8823.
