Sculptures - Reliefs- Masks exhibit Middletown — Orange Hall Gallery will be the venue for the show, “Sculptures - Reliefs - Masks,” presented by the Hudson Valley Sculptors Society, from Sunday, Nov. 6 to Friday, Dec. 16. The show will include free-standing pieces and bas reliefs and sculpted masks. An opening reception will be held from noon to 4 p.m. on Sunday, Nov. 6. It will include sculpture demonstrations, from 1 to 2 p.m., of “Sculpture Castings” by Najim Chechen of Otisville, and “Woodcarving” by Ginger Schmidt of Warwick, and music will be provided by pianist Judith Hosmer Garrett of Montgomery. Simultaneous quilt exhibit Simultaneous to the sculpture exhibit will be a quilt exhibit by master quilter Michele Fuchs of Middletown in the Orange Hall Gallery Loft. The quilts are all original handmade fiberart creations. Originally from France, Fuchs has done oil painting as well, and so she creates quilts from the perspective of an artist, yet keeps the usability of her pieces always in mind. Now senior citizen, she has been sewing since age 4. All of her pieces are hand-pieced, hand-appliqued and hand-stitched. The reception and the exhibits are free. Exhibit hours will be from 9 a.m. to 8 p.m. on Monday through Wednesday, and 9 a.m. to 5 p.m. on Thursday through Friday, and during performances in Orange Hall Theater.
