‘Art House’ to feature work of Orange County artists and craftspeople Sugar Loaf - Art House, a new cooperative art gallery and workshop located at 1397 Kings Highway, will open Saturday, Dec. 1, with a free “meet the artists” reception from noon to 4 p.m. The public is invited and refreshments will be served. “Orange County is home to some wonderful creative people,” said artist and gallery owner Martin Dominguez Ball. “Art House was conceived to be a warm and welcoming place where they can gather, collaborate, showcase their work and share their talent with the community through small group workshops and classes.” Poetry readings, documentary film screenings, writing workshops and other events are also planned for the space in 2008. The initial exhibition at Art House will feature the work of seven resident artists representing a variety of media including watercolor, pen-and-ink, acrylics, photography, jewelry and ink on wood. The gallery is actively seeking established and emerging artists interested in showing their work or teaching creative workshops. Art House will be open Thursday through Sunday from 10 a.m. to 5 p.m. or by appointment.
