Offers renewal of wedding vows on canal boat Neversink Kate Cuddebackville — On Saturday, June 24, the Neversink Valley Area Museum will offer local residents the opportunity to renew their wedding vows aboard its canal boat replica, Neversink Kate. Deerpark Town Supervisor Mark House will officiate at the ceremonies. The renewal of vows will begin at approximately 4:30 p.m. Couples will step aboard the specially-decorated Neversink Kate, and re-affirm their love to each other on the D & H Canal, while invited guests look on. When the ceremony is complete, all will share in a champagne (non-alcoholic) toast and some light snacks. Photographs of the event will be available, or bring your own cameras. Space is limited, and reservations are required. In addition to being a good way to celebrate life on the canal that meant so much to this region, this event has been created to get the word out that Neversink Kate can be made available for private weddings or vow renewals. For receptions, hosts can rent the D and H Canal Park Visitor’s Center, near the boat dock, directly through Orange County department of Parks, Recreation and Conservation. The museum, at 26 Hoag Road in Cuddebackville, is open Thursday through Sunday from noon until 4 p.m., April 1 through October 29, and by appointment. For reservations and more information, call 754-8870 or visit www.neversinkmuseum.org.
