Musical to benefit missing and exploited children
WARWICK Vision Community Church will present the musical “A Christmas Starr” at 6 p.m. on Sunday, Dec. 18, in the Sanfordville Elementary School cafeteria at 144 Sanfordville Road in Warwick. The musical tells the story of Chrissy, a fun-loving little star who, with the help of her star friends, comes to an understanding of who she is and what the birth of Jesus means. The musical is performed by the children and adults of Vision Community Church, a new United Methodist church in Warwick, which uses an innovative worship design in order to reach the many people for whom traditional church styles and structures are not working. In four years, the congregation has grown to 120 people. Sunday morning celebrations are held at the Warwick Valley Community Center at 10 a.m. The musical will be presented as a “Dinner Theater for Kids” experience. Tickets are $8 per adult, $5 per child, and children under five free, which includes an Italian dinner. Advanced tickets are suggested as seating is limited. All proceeds will benefit the Center for Missing and Exploited Children. For reservations, call 986-4333.
