Music in support of New Orleans' artists
Sugar Loaf In its ongoing commitment to help performing artists from Hurrican Katrina-torn New Orleans, the Sugarloaf Music Series will present Three-Legged Dog performing artists, The Malvinas, at 8 p.m. on Saturday, March 31, in the Pavilion of the Lycian Performing Arts Center. Jon Stein of WTBQ will be master-of-ceremonies; all proceeds go to the artists. The Malvinas, a feminist trio, perform a feisty blend of jazz, traditional and folk-pop music. They pull together a broad palette of regional colors, including the blues-tinged grooves of the deep South, the spicy Cajun flavours of Louisiana, the Celtic modes of Eastern Canada and the libertarian troubadour tradition of the Lone Star State.
