Music in Central Valley presents

The French Spirit: Music For Violin And Harp’ Central Valley Music in Central Valley will present violinist Elizabeth Silver and harpist Karlinda Caldicott in “The French Spirit: Music for Violin and Harp” at 3 p.m. on Sunday, Feb. 26. The concert will feature works by composers who have a French connection, either by birth, study, or relocation, namely Debussy, Faure, Massenet, Salzedo, Labarre, and Andres. Violinist Elizabeth Silver has appeared as soloist with the Albany Symphony and the St. Cecilia and Lake George Chamber Orchestras. An active chamber musician, Silver is a founding member of the Eribeth Chamber Players, and performs regularly with the River Quartet. She holds degrees from the Oberlin Conservatory of Music, and Syracuse University, and is currently a member of the Albany Symphony. Harpist Karlinda Caldicott has appeared as soloist with various orchestras in upstate New York, performing concertos by Handel, Mozart, Debussy, and Caplet. She has toured Europe with the New York Harp Ensemble, and the United States with Iridescence. Caldicott has performed as principal harpist with the North Carolina Symphony, the Glimmerglass Opera Festival, and the Albany Symphony Orchestra. She is currently instructor of harp at Hartwick College in Oneonta. The program will take place at the handicapped-accessible Central Valley United Methodist Church on Smith Clove Road, and is offered free of charge, with a suggested donation at the door.
