Music in Central Valley hosts Kairos, a Consort of Singers, on Nov. 13

CENTRAL VALLEY — On Sunday, Nov. 13, Music in Central Valley presents the acclaimed choral ensemble, Kairos, A Consort of Singers, in a program of acapella and accompanied choral settings on texts by Shakespeare.
The program, entitled "Immortal Shakespeare," includes composers from the sixteenth century through the twenty-first, both European and American, and two from the Hudson Valley.
The program also celebrates the 400th anniversary of the author.
Known throughout the Hudson Valley for its exquisite singing, imaginative programming, and Bach Cantata performances, Kairos was founded in 1994 at Holy Cross Monastery and reorganized under Dr. Edward Lundergan in 1996.
In 2005, the Consort, under Lundergan’s direction, became artist-in-residence at Holy Cross. Kairos has appeared with such instrumental groups as the Hudson Valley Philharmonic, the Bach Festival Orchestra and the Esopus Chamber Orchestra.
Since 2010, Kairos has expanded its repertory to include performances of great choral masterpieces of the Baroque.
