Music at the Mission plays host to acoustic show on Jan. 21

West Milford, N.J. — Musicians from Vernon and around the area are among those performing in a two-hour show at Music at the Mission in West Milford, N.J., on Saturday, Jan. 21. The Twangtown Paramours, The Yayas, Caleb Hawley and Chasing June are all on the bill for the 7:30 p.m. show. Tickets are $22 to $25 and can be purchased at www.musicatthemission.org. This show features four up and coming national touring acoustic acts, all of which have received accolades from folk radio DJ’s and are gaining national recognition on the air and in the press. Former Vernon, N.J., resident Mike Lewis and MaryBeth Zamer make up The Twangtown Paramours, an acoustic Americana duo from Nashville. They were 2011 Kerrville New Folk Finalists and were named Artists on the Verge for 2011 by The Bluegrass Special Magazine. Lewis is a hit songwriter who sometimes plays upright bass for Jimmie Dale Gilmore. Zamer sang background vocals for the late Eva Cassidy. The Yayas are a melodic Folk trio from Lake Mohegan. They are also 2011 Kerrville New Folk Finalists. Caleb Hawley is an award-winning songwriter and was in the final 50 on the 2011 American Idol Season. The folk duo Chasing June, from Rockaway, N.J., is known for its harmonies.
