Museum Village to host monthly ghost tours

MONROE — Many stories have been shared over the years about ghosts and spirits at Museum Village.

They have been witnessed by many of the staff in several buildings and at numerous different times.

Laughter has been heard in the School House from “Clare;” lights have been seen going on and off in buildings; a little girl has been running across the green; and, of course, founder Roscoe Smith has been heard and seen in the Visitors’ Center.

These are just some examples of the many extraordinary sightings.

To share these experiences with both the believers and the doubters, Museum Village is hosting monthly Ghost Tours through September. Upcoming dates are:

Saturday, July 19.
Saturday, Aug. 9.

Friday, Sept. 12.
Tours will begin in the Visitors’ Center at 8 p.m. with a video shown from Visual Paranormal’s visit to Museum Village in October 2012. Several curious instances were seen and documented.

Hot and cold tea and cookies will be served. Ellen will be your host and tour guide as you venture onto the green, visit at least three additional buildings and welcome the spirits of Museum Village.

Admission is $20 (paid in advance) and will be limited to 13 adventurous souls.

For more information, or to sign up for this adventure into the unknown, call Lori at 845-782-8247 ext. 1 Monday through Fridays from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m.
