Museum to host workshop during sale
Goshen On Saturday, Feb. 11, the Harness Racing Museum & Hall of Fame in Goshen will hold a special “We Love Standardbred Horses” workshop for children three to 12 years old. From 10:30 a.m. to noon, participants will learn about famous New York Standardbred horses, and make a special “horsey” Valentine to take home or send to their favorite horse. The $5 fee includes one free adult admission with child, the craft, and a ride on the museum’s 3-D simulator. On Valentine’s Day, Tuesday, Feb. 14, the museum will offer a “buy one get one free” admission opportunity. Visitors can view original Currier & Ives lithographs, sit on a sulky, call a race, and explore the world of the amateur driver. Also offered will be a special children’s corner, a trip round the track on the 3-D simulator, and a visit to the gift shop for a Spring Sale. The museum, located at 240 Main Street in Goshen, is open daily 10 a.m. to 5 p.m. from November through March, and 10 a.m. to 6 p.m. from April through October.
