Museum to host fossil program

CORNWALL — The Hudson Highlands Nature Museum will offer an “Impressive Fossils” program, which will teach participants about finding and identifying fossils, on Saturday, Jan. 19 at the museum’s Discovery Center, 20 Kenridge Farm Drive, in Cornwall. Participants will also explore ancient history through viewing fossil specimens. Derek Yoost, an Orange County Mineral Society amateur geologist and paleontologist, will offer his knowledge, showing collections of New York State fossils and minerals. Participants will also will create their own plaster cast fossil to take home. The program is recommended for adults and children ages five and up.
