Museum passes, disc repair among new services at the library
Goshen The Goshen Public Library and Historical Society will provide two new services to patrons over the next month. A DVD/CD repair service will be offered to patrons beginning Sept. 17. Patrons are welcome to drop off their discs for cleaning at the circulation desk. Library staff will clean the discs and have them ready for pickup within a week. A fee of $1 per disc for cleaning will be charged. A maximum of five discs will be accepted per patron per week. Full payment will be required at drop-off time. Patrons are required to sign a form releasing the library from responsibility for any damages. In October, the library will offer a museum passes program to Goshen cardholders in good standing, age 18, and older. The library is in the process of purchasing memberships to museums throughout the New York metropolitan area, including local museums. Memberships are being purchased for the American Museum of Natural History, Metropolitan Museum of Art, New York Botanical Garden, New York Historical Society, Paley Center for Media (formerly the Museum of Television and Radio), New York City Fire Museum, Children’s Museum of Manhattan, Historic Hudson Valley, Museum Village, Hudson Highlands Nature Museum, Neversink Valley Area Museum, and Harness Racing Museum and Hall of Fame. Goshen cardholders may borrow one pass at a time for a total of three days. In most cases, membership passes will allow free admission for up to two adults and children under age 18. Passes will be checked out on a first-come, first served basis. A $5-a-day late fee will be assessed. Museum passes are not available for renewal. The replacement charge for a lost pass will be the entire cost to replace the membership. The library is located at 203 Main St. in Goshen. Hours are 9 a.m. to 8 p.m., Monday and Thursday; 9 a.m. to 9 p.m., Tuesday and Wednesday; 10 a.m. to 8 p.m., Friday; 9 a.m. to 5 p.m., Saturday; and 1 to 5 p.m., Sunday.
