8th Annual Hudson Valley Ramble Cornwall —On Sunday, Sept. 23 and 30 at 10 a.m. the Quest Rangers at the Hudson Highlands Nature Museum will take visitors on an exciting adventure. The museum’s Discovery Quests are a “museum tour in the woods,” where riddles and clues move visitors along the trails learning about nature as they go. The Quest Ranger generally gives Discovery Quest visitors instructions and sends them out on their own to experience the Museum’s unique Quests. However, on these three Sundays, the Quest Ranger will lead groups from post-to-post along the Woodland Quest trail. The Woodland Quest is an intriguing path of tree identification and animal habitats of the tree canopy and forest floor. It is a moderate trail with a few short hilly sections. The museum’s Executive Director, Jackie Grant says, “The Discovery Quests are an answer to those who say ‘people don’t get out into nature anymore.’ We are excited to offer this unique outdoor experience designed for people of all ages to do together.” Participants can come solve puzzles and rhymes in the Quest Guidebooks and learn as they go. Comfortable shoes are suggested. Bring a backpack with water and snacks. This program is recommended for adults and children ages five and up. Admission is $3. Members are free. Guidebooks are $5 and can be shared. Pre-registration requested. The museum is located at 20 Kenridge Farm Drive, Route 9W, Cornwall, For more information or to register, call 534-5506, ext 204.
