Museum explores Hudson River banks

    New Windsor — As part of its “Nature of the Hudson” Saturday programs, The Museum of the Hudson Highlands will visit the banks of the Hudson River on Aug. 19 at 10 a.m., at the Kowawese Unique Area, Route 9W, New Windsor, A museum educator will answer the questions: What Animals Call the Hudson River Home? What makes the Hudson such a critical and unique habitat in this area? Participants will explore along the Hudson in search of signs, tracks and traces of inhabitants and meet some of the animals that depend on this important habitat for survival. The Museum of the Hudson Highlands’ Saturday Nature Programs are a series of interactive educational programs about the science, natural history and environment of the Hudson Highlands. An educator from the Museum will begin with a discussion and move on to a participatory activity. All ages are welcome.
