Mother's Day weekend at OCCC

Middletown — Mother’s Day weekend will showcase two concerts on the campus of SUNY Orange at Orange County Community College on South Street in Middletown. The SUNY Orange Chamber Ensemble will kick off the weekend a 3 p.m. on Saturday, May 13, with a concert in Morrison Hall. Under the direction of Hilarie Clark Moore, the ensemble will perform works by Beethoven, Handel, Mozart, Tuthil, Jansons, and Debussey. A free Mother’s Day Choral Concert will be presented by the SUNY Orange Choir and Madrigal Singers at 3 p.m. on Sunday, May 14, in the Orange Hall Theater. The performers, directed by choral instructor Christa Damaris, will present a program of choral classics. The selections will include “Cantate Domnio,” “April is in my Mistress’ Face,” “Alleluia,” “Oseh Shalom,” “Embraceable You,” and “What a Wonderful World.” The concerts are sponsored by the arts and communication department at SUNY Orange.
