MotherLode Trio and Bethany & Rufus brings harmonies and jazz to Bodles
CHESTER-The MotherLode Trio, and the duo Bethany & Rufus, will appear at Bodles Opera House at 8 p.m. on Friday, Oct. 28, at 39 Main St. in Chester. The MotherLode Trio came to life one afternoon in January 2000 during a routine play date for their children. Above the din of the kids rose a vibrant and spine-tingling blend of three voices whose harmony was there by nature, not by premeditated plan or practice. Inspired, the labor followed. The trio has since appeared on Good Morning America ABC, Today Show NBC, CNN’s The Flipside, CBS Morning Show, Time Warner Cable and Poughkeepsie Live. For the past several years, Bethany Yarrow and cellist Rufus Cappadocia have been touring together. Cappadocia, with a background in jazz and dance-oriented music, provides the pulse, while Yarrow sings with ease, drawing from a lifetime of familiarity (her father is Peter Yarrow of the legendary folk trio, Peter, Paul and Mary). Doors open at 6:30 p.m. Tickets are $15 and reservations are required. Order online or call 469-4595.
