Monroe musicians play Music at the Mission

West Mildford, N.J. - Monroe residents Jonathon Rupolo and Tim Rybinski from “Shoe Leather Express” took the stage last Saturday during the open mic session at “Music at the Mission” at West Milford Presbyterian Church. They lay claim to influences ranging from the New Riders of the Purple Sage and Bob Dylan to Green Day and Bill Monroe. They also acknowledge “all the local bluegrass bands that insipred us to form including Big Cow, McMule, Oxford Depot, Red Molly, and many more.” More about their music can be found online at www.myspace.com/theshoeleatherexpress. Since its inception in 2002, Music at the Mission has attracted an outstanding line up of well-known and not-so-well known, but nevertheless talented musicians. It is a non-profit, all volunteer organization. The shows are in an intimate coffeehouse atmosphere, seating 160 people with general admission. Reserved seating is available to members.
