Monroe — Monroe Free Library staffers will volunteer their time and goodies at the annual holiday boutique this Saturday and Sunday, Dec. 3 and 4. Every year, employees volunteer to sell “like-new” books and homemade baked goods. All the proceeds are returned to the library in the form of a donation. For the first time, the event will last two days. The sale tables will be open during the library’s regular business hours: 10 a.m. to 4 p.m. Saturday and noon to 5 p.m. to Sunday. Saturday will feature special walk-in events for families: a story time at 10 a.m. and a family fondue from 2:00 to 3:30 p.m. Kids can learn to make the warm winter snack themselves. The grand prize in the library’s raffle is Apple iPad 2. The winning ticket will be drawn at 3:30 p.m. on Saturday.
