WARWICK — The “Rock-n-Roll Art Show and Chair Auction,” sponsored by the Warwick Valley School District Art Department, begins at 6 p.m. on Friday, May 4.

The students have been working for several months to transform an ordinary chair into a work of art. The chairs will be auctioned off to the public with 100 percent of the proceeds going to our graduating seniors in the form of art scholarships.

The chairs are painted in a style of an art movement, style or a particular artist. The junior and senior portfolio class and a few other juniors and seniors as well as art department faculty members will be participating in the event.

The more than two dozen chairs range in style from Peter Pan and an Animal Kingdom chair to a beautifully rendered horse and a Norman Rockwell chair.

There is a silent absentee bid the week before leading up the auction for those who can not attend.

The auction will begin at 7 p.m. in the auditorium. For a preview, visit www.warwickartauction.weebly.com.
