May is Bird-a-thon Month at Orange County Land Trust

Middletown — Orange County Land Trust will be holding their 5th Annual Bird-a-thon during the month of May. The Land Trust is pleased to announce matching funds have been received from Hudson Baylor Corporation, Laura Breitman (Mixed Media Collage Artist) and the Orange County Land Trust Board of Directors totaling over $8500. This year the Bird-a-thon features a guided urban birding adventure through Fancher Davidge Park for Middletown youngsters in partnership with the Middletown YMCA. Marlena Lange, Chair of this year’s Bird-a-thon and Orange County Land Trust board member, is hoping the event will foster a love of nature and adventure in these stewards of tomorrow, right in their own backyard. Other scheduled events for the month of May include a Hike at Fuller Mountain Preserve on Saturday, May 12, Welcoming the Birds Back at Moonbeams Preserve on Sunday, May 20, “Birding with Babes” at Moonbeams Preserve on Friday, May 25 and a Spring Wildflower Walk at Fuller Mountain Preserve on Saturday, May 26.
