Master muralist to show how to illustrate nature
Cragsmoor The 40-foot mural in the Sam’s Point Conservation Center depicts more than 90 species of plants and animals in their habitat. This work was executed by artist Linda Thomas after months of research. In a workshop for children and adults to be held at the conservation center from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. on Sunday, April 29, Thomas will show participants how make their own illustrations. Once the illustrations are finished, they will be transferred to T-shirts for participants to take home The group will then accompany Thomas on a short hike through the landscape that inspired her. Participants should bring lunch and water. Sam’s Point Preserve is located off Route 52 between Pine Bush and Ellenville in the Hamlet of Cragsmoor.
