Make your own shofar
Poughkeepsie Chabad of Mid-Hudson Valley, as part of its annual efforts to enhance the meaning and experience of the high holidays to Jews everywhere in the mid-Hudson Valley, is offering pre-holiday and high holiday programs and services to the entire community. The Shofar Factory will be held from 11 a.m. to 5 p.m. on Sunday, Sept. 17 at the Chabad Lubavitch Center on 63 Vassar Rd., in Red Oaks Mill, Poughkeepsie. Participants will make their own shofars from a genuine ram’s horn. As supply is limited call to reserve a shofar. Cost: $10. Additional high holiday crafts include making New Year cards to send Israeli soldiers and making an apple and honey dish for Rosh Hashanah.
