'Makbet’- Shakespeare with a twist – performance is July 7

Opus 40, located in Saugerties, will present the Dzieci Theater Company’s production of “Makbet” on Saturday, July 7, at 6 p.m. This is a Shakespeare production with a twist, as the audience follows the performers around and through Opus 40, interweaving Shakespeare’s tale of murder, duplicity and the supernatural with Harvey Fite’s masterwork.
SAUGERTIES — Opus 40 will present the Dzieci Theater Company’s production of “Makbet” on Saturday, July 7, at 6 p.m.
This is a Shakespeare production with a twist, as the audience follows the performers around and through Opus 40, interweaving Shakespeare’s tale of murder, duplicity and the supernatural with Harvey Fite’s masterwork.
Actors and characters are interwoven as parts and swapped in mid-scene.
Theater officials called the production edgy, exciting and profound.
Tickets are $15 in advance and $20 at the door. Members of Friends of Opus 40 can attend as guests.
