Goshen artist to exhibit in Woodstock Goshen — Artist Lynne Digby of Goshen will display her work in an exhibit titled “Maine in Mixed Media” at the Woodstock Artists Association and Museum, located at 28 Tinker St. in Woodstock, from Dec. 8 to Jan. 6. A reception to meet the artist will be held from 4 to 6 p.m. on Saturday, Dec. 8. Gallery hours are Monday, Thursday, Sunday from noon to 5 p.m.; Friday and Saturday from noon to 6 p.m. Booklets of illustrated poetry by the artist, “May I Share with You,” will be available for sale. “My exhibition is for ocean lovers and particularly those who find Maine irresistible,” Digby said. “The paintings are fruit from summer adventures to the Maine coast and surrounding areas with fellow artists. Through the years we saw crystal-clear days filled with sunshine, foggy damp days of water-soaked grasses and dripping trees, wild Nor’easters, and dry cold with frost sharp enough to make us light a fire in the hearth to keep warm.” Digby said she is not a plein air painter. “For the most part I sketch and photograph when I’m there,” she said. “I work in my studio, where I travel back in my imagination through my photographs to the locations that touched me. They become entirely my world and that’s probably why I work in silence.” For more information, visit LynneDigby.com.
