M-W 2005 salutatorian: Corey Lerner

    CENTRAL VALLEY-Corey Lerner plans to attend Harvard University. While in High School, Corey was one of two students who successfully completed the American Legion Boys' State of New York Program. He also received a National Merit Scholarship Letter of Commendation. Corey has received the MWHS Pursuit of Excellence Award, the Senior Scholar Athlete Award, and the Senior Crusader Award for the senior who has demonstrated outstanding service to student activities. Corey has been Class President for three years, and he is now Student Council President. He has completed an internship at former State Assemblyman Howard Mills' office where he pursued his interests in government and politics. Corey is currently the Captain of the Varsity Baseball Team. Corey has been involved with Odyssey of the Mind for four years, and he is a member of the National Honor Society, the Building Leadership Committee, and is proud to be a big brother through the Big Brother/Little Brother Program. His greatest accomplishments while in High School are the friendships and relationships formed with peers, teachers, administrators and community leaders while devoting his time to service within the school and community. Although his future plans are undecided, he will continue to pursue his interests in government and economics. Most importantly, Corey is a good human being and a fine young man.
