Lycian Centre Galleries feature exhibit of watercolor paintings

Sugar Loaf - The Lycian Centre for the Performing Arts is hosting an art exhibit of 54 watercolor paintings in its galleries by award-winning artist Andy Gorcica now through July 1. The exhibit contains paintings from the Sugar Loaf area, the Old School Baptist Church in Warwick, the Greenwood Lake area, Sussex County, N.Y., the Adirondacks, Alaska and England. Gorcica’s paintings are realistic landscapes of places he and his wife have visited. His work has been shown in the Papermill Playhouse, The Flyway Gallery at the Meadowlands Environment Center, The Ringwood Barn Gallery, The Art Center of Northern New Jersey, The Clifton Arts Center, Ridgewood Barn and St. Catherine of Bologna Art Show. He recently received the best in show awards from both St. Catherine’s and the Clifton Arts Center. In 2005, Gorcica’s painting, “Springtime in Sussex,” won first place in watercolor from the Senior Juried Show in New Milford and represented Bergen County in the New Jersey State Finals in Flemington. The Lycian Centre is located on Kings Highway in Sugar Loaf. Gallery Hours are 11 a.m. to 4 p.m. Tuesday through Saturday. Admission is free.
