Local singers are featured soloists in Classic Choral Society’s May 6 concert

BLOOMING GROVE — The Classic Choral Society will present a free-will donation concert featuring local soloists on Sunday, May 6, at 4 p.m. at the United Church of Christ on Old Dominion Road in Blooming Grove.
Local soloists include Anne Gayler, Jennie Maney and Robert Pollsen of Monroe; Mariella Collinsworth of West Point; Nancy Quackenbush of Highland Mills; Claire Leonard, Debra Scott and Gloria Kingstrom of Goshen; Roberta Brown of Warwick; Aileen Mahoney of Cornwall; Mary Latino and Margaret Small of Cornwall-on-Hudson; Tom Liotta and James Mahoney of New Hampton; Paul Wasmund, Kris MacMillin and Marybeth O’Hara of Campbell Hall; and Kathleen Alevras, Michael Steup, Barbara and Steve Andersen and Julie Baxter of Washingtonville.
Norwegian composers will be highlighted during the choral society’s spring season.
“From its very beginning in 1959, Classic Choral Society was created to give everyone easy access concerts that highlight great choral music,” said artistic director and conductor Janiece Kohler. “That’s why we don’t sell tickets or charge admission at the door. We want to fill the seats with our families and with friends - old and new. It is our gift to the community.”
