Goshen — Michael A. Cimino of Goshen has released his latest book, “Badfinger and Beyond - The Biography of Joey Molland,” a story of one of rock 'n’ roll’s true underdogs. Molland is best known as the guitarist and songwriter for the British group Badfinger. Badfinger was signed to The Beatles’ Apple Records in the late 60s and by the early 70s they had scored a string of top ten hits including “Come And Get It,” “No Matter What,” “Day After Day,” and “Baby Blue.” During their tenure under The Beatles corporate umbrella, the members of Badfinger also wrote the standard “Without You,” which was a #1 gold record for both Harry Nilsson and Mariah Carey. As protégés to The Beatles, Badfinger became the best selling act on Apple other than The Beatles themselves. “Badfinger and Beyond” is not only the rags to riches - and back again - story of Molland, but it is also a revealing testament of a generation of musicians who forever changed the look, sound, and attitudes of youth. Taken entirely from interviews conducted by the author, the book tells the story of life, death, and rip-offs on the rock 'n’ roll road. Molland stands as the sole survivor of the original Badfinger band. Cimino is no stranger to the rock 'n’ roll or publishing, world. He is a former radio announcer and founded Cottage Views in 1993 as a grassroots print-to-paper newsletter reporting on new releases from musicians from the golden age of rock music. Over a 10 year period of time the newsletter was shipped around the globe and was then converted to a Web site which acts as a music-news source as well as an advertising venue for Cimino’s restaurant consulting and wine education businesses. Cimino’s first book is “The Waitperson’s Guide to Wine - Practical Information for Service.” Both books are published through his company Cottage Views and are available immediately from his Web site.
