Little Big Band to perform ‘Legends of American Music'

West Point — As part of the Music Under the Stars series, The United States Military Academy Band’s Jazz Knights will feature its new ensemble in “Legends of American Music” at 7:30 p.m. on Sunday, July 9, at the Trophy Point Amphitheatre. The new five horn ensemble, called The Little Big Band, will perform a myriad of selections from some of America’s biggest music legends, including Harold Arlen, Rodgers and Hammerstein, Aretha Franklin, Herbie Hancock, Horace Silver, and Stevie Wonder. The Little Big Band is a smaller version of the Jazz Knights, to allow for further musical exploration through a wide range of idioms. Allow extra travel time for inspections at the gates.
