Limited tickets remain for ‘Sunset at Winslow’ Party

WARWICK — Planning is nearly completed for “Sunset at Winslow,” one of the top annual social functions in the Town of Warwick.
Another sellout gathering is expected as ticket sales are ahead of last year’s pace.
Less than 70 remain.
The festive but casual dinner and dancing party is open to the entire adult community. Proceeds from this year’s event will benefit Winslow’s Therapeutic Riding Center and the Warwick Valley Humane Society.
Last year's party grossed $86,000 and netted a little over $52,000. Area non-profits use gross receipts in reporting fund raiser results. This includes in-kind contributions.
From riding rink to night clubThe Saturday, June 16 event will be held from 6 to 10 p.m. at Winslow’s indoor arena, just off Route 17A across from Mt. Peter (1433 State Route 17A) in Warwick.
That night some 400 guests will enter the Ruth B. Ottaway Arena, transformed from a therapeutic horse riding rink into a colorful night club atmosphere.
Attire for the evening will be casual chic with no high heels recommended.
Menus created by award-winning chefsFeatured will be dinner catered by award-winning chefs from The Helm Restaurant in Greenwood Lake, dancing to the music of the CloudNYne Band, upscale silent and live auctions, valet parking and tours of the Winslow facilities.
The Helm was named 2017 Best Restaurant of Orange County and 2017 Best of the Hudson Valley. Executive chef and co-owner Jennifer Abelton will be featured in an upcoming episode of the Food Network’s “Chopped.”
For the benefit of WinslowCindy Vander Plaat, Susan Ferro and Betsy Mitchell are co-chairing “Sunset at Winslow.” Marge King Porter is chair of auction activities.
The co-chairs said their goal for “Sunset at Winslow” is to provide “an enjoyable evening for the entire community while benefiting the wonderful work of Winslow Therapeutic Riding Center, a non-profit organization devoted to the special needs community of the Hudson Valley, and the Warwick Valley Humane Society, a non-profit organization which provides a safe haven for abandoned and abused animals and to finding forever homes for these animals.”
