Library to present An Introduction to Chakras'
Warwick The Albert Wisner Public Library will host “An Introduction to Chakras: the Energy Anatomy of the Body” with Arlene Prince at 7 p.m. on Tuesday, April 4. The program will explore chakras as a road map for self-understanding and self-empowerment. “Chakra” is a Sanskrit word meaning “wheel” or “vortex.” Chakras refer to the seven energy centers of consciousness in an individual, and comes from a 5,000 year old theory which integrates mind, body, emotions, and spirit. Dr. Christian Northrup, M.D., a past president of the American Holistic Medical Association, has said that “understanding our energy anatomy holds the key to true healing, rather than just measuring the symptoms. It offers a comprehensive and holistic view of how each of us co-creates health and disease.” Prince has studied the chakras with Caroline Myss and Anodea Judith, both of whom are prolific authors and teachers on the subject. She teaches a course locally for those exploring holistic healthcare options, and uses the understanding of chakras in private practice.
