WARWICK — The Albert Wisner Public Library will present Romantic Music for a Sunday Afternoon with the Newburgh Chamber Music Ensemble on Sept. 17 at 1:30 p.m. in the Library’s Community Room.
The performance is free and open to the public and registration is required. To register to attend, visit albertwisnerlibrary.org or call the Library at 986-1047 ext. 3.
The concert will feature light-hearted and delightful music by Dvorak, Telemann, Godard, Cui and Nielsen.
Performers are fine regional musicians, including violinist Carole Cowan, oboist Joel Evans, cellist Susan Seligman and pianist Ruthanne Schempf. Colleagues in the Hudson Valley Philharmonic and at the State University of New York at New Paltz, these musicians have distinguished individual careers as well as a long history of collaboration.
Cowan is a founder and artistic director of Newburgh Chamber Music, which is celebrating its 16th year of presenting a variety of performing ensembles in the heart of historic Newburgh. Performing in duo, trio and quartet combinations, the informal concert will include discussion of the pieces and a time for questions from the audience.
This concert is made possible by a donation to the Albert Wisner Public Library Foundation by Herbert and Stephanie Neuman.
