Library to host local author

Warwick The Albert Wisner Public Library will present a talk by author and Goshen resident James Magee on Friday, Aug. 3. Readers who are fans of James Patterson, David Baldacci, Jeffrey Archer or John Grisham will want to meet this new author and hear excerpts from his new thriller, “To Serve and Protect.” Magee will also talk about the experiences that led to his writing this novel, which is set in his hometown of Goshen. Copies of the book will be available for purchase and a book signing will follow the talk. Refreshments will be served. “Mr. Magee’s accurate description of life in a small town and the way in which he presents Goshen is indicative of his attention to detail throughout this book,” said Scott Wohl, mayor of the Village of Goshen. “A gripping thriller and satisfying read ... reading To Serve and Protect,’ made me proud to live in Goshen.” This program is co-sponsored by Warwick Grove and will be held on at 7 p.m. on Friday, Aug. 3 at the Grove’s Neighborhood Center, 12 Cropsey St. Copies of To Serve and Protect are available for borrowing at the library. Registration is required for this event. To register, call the library at 986-1047 ext. 3.
