Warwick — On Friday evening, Dec. 9, the Albert Wisner Public Library Foundation sponsored a concert to kick-off its 2011/2012 annual appeal. “The Great American Songbook” concert, featuring vocals by Perley Rousseau and Sonny Daye on the keyboard, was made possible by a gift to the Foundation by Jonah Mandelbaum and Donna Applegate. Before the concert, Friends of the Library President Colleen Larson, Teen Advisory Board member Faith Wilkinson and foundation treasurer Glenn P. Dickes spoke about the importance of the Library in the life of the community. They asked the audience to consider a gift to the annual appeal in order to continue the concerts and other events the library is able to offer during the year. Through a matching grant from donors Applegate and Mandelbaum and Glenn P. and Susan D. Dickes, a donation made this December or January 2012 will be doubled.
