Library announces fall programs for teens

    Warwick - The Albert Wisner Public Library will be offering the following fall programs for teenagers: • “Tips for Taking the SAT’s” on Monday, Sept. 25, at 7 p.m. and “How to Prepare the Perfect College Essay” on Monday, Nov. 13, at 7 p.m. with reading specialist, Jill Mante. • Teens can make two crafts, a fall woven banner on Monday, Oct. 2, at 6:30 p.m., and a Halloween surprise on Monday, Oct. 30, at 6:30 p.m. with local teacher and artist, Eileen Korn. • Make a magnetic message board for your locker on Monday, Oct. 9, at 6:30 p.m. • Teens and adults can create a “flag” book that can be used as a scrapbook for photos, collages, vacation memories and a piece of art with artist, Renie Garlick on Friday, Nov. 17, from 6:30 to 9:30 p.m. • The annual American Library Association’s “Teen Read Week” is Oct. 15-21, and this year’s theme is “Get Active @ Your Library.” Enter our design-a-bookmark contest. The winner will have their work made into a bookmark to be distributed at the library. Deadline has been extended until Oct. 6. • Anime club continues on Mondays, Sept. 18, Oct. 16, Nov. 20 and Dec. 18 at 6:30 p.m., and on Saturdays, Sept. 16, Oct. 21, Nov. 25 and Dec. 16 at 3 p.m. • Teen Advisory Board meets on Mondays, Oct. 23, Nov. 6, Nov. 20 and Dec. 11 at 6:30 p.m. All library programs require registration but are free and materials are supplied, and all are open to students living in the Warwick Valley School district in grades six through 12.
