The second annual Latin Legends Weekend will be held at the Thayer Hotel at West Point on Saturday, April 12, beginning at 9 p.m. Judy Battista of the “Latin Jubilee Radio Show,” and John Moultrie, musical director, will serve as the show’s master of ceremony hosts. For the first time in 40 years, this event will reunite the Latin legends of the Palladium-era, including the founding members of “Orquesta Dicupe,” Palladium-era bassist Alfonso “El Panameno” Joseph, and an unforgettable Mambo dance performance by the international Latin dancer, “Cuban Pete.” The featured artists are cast members of the widely publicized and highly anticipated movie “La Epoca” (The Era), a major national television production about the origins and evolution of Latin music and dance from the Palladium-era to present day. Executive producer of “La Epoca” film, Josue Joseph, will be a special guest speaker, as he has gathered these artists from his film, for this exclusive county event. Ticket prices are $45 per person (including cocktail), or the dinner and show for $100 per person. For more information, call 800-247-5047, or visit the Web site at www.thethayerhotel.com.
