Monticello — The New Year’s Eve show by Mighty M Gaming at Monticello Raceway will feature some “Monkee-ing around,” with performances by Micky Dolenz, one of the cast of the classic television show “The Monkees.” The star of the hit show will also perform on Thursday, Dec. 29, and Friday, Dec. 30, with shows at 8 p.m. and 10 p.m., before two New Year’s Eve shows on Saturday, Dec. 31, at 8 p.m. and 11:30 p.m. “The Monkees,” a big hit during the mid-to-late 1960’s, was TV’s answer to the feature films made by the Beatles during that period, with Dolenz keeping the beat on drums. As both a real and fictitious group, the band released several albums that spawned a string of chart-topping hit singles including “I’m A Believer,” “Last Train To Clarksville,” “Daydream Believer,” and “Pleasant Valley Sunday.” To this day, the group has a loyal following of baby-boomers, who remember the original series, as well as the kids of today who buy reissues of their classic albums. Mighty M Gaming at Monticello Raceway, located on Route 17B in Monticello, features video gaming machines, a buffet and food court, and a lounge with nightly entertainment. It is open from 10 a.m. to 2 a.m. daily. For more information, call toll-free 866-777-GAME.
