Goshen — Orange County historical artist Keven Storms will discuss the creation of ‘A Regiment of Heroes,’ on Friday, Sept. 21, at 8:30 p.m., at the 1841 Court House in Goshen, following the business meeting of the Incorporated Orange County Chapter of the NYS Archaeological Association. ‘Regiment’ is a series of paintings, commissioned for the occasion of the re-dedication of the restored Civil War Orange Blossom monument. Storms’ program, “Drawing on the Past,” will also cover the role of artist-correspondents of the Civil War period. Opening Sept. 9, the Orange County Historian’s Office will host an exhibit on the first floor of the 1841 Court House, featuring Storms’ series of paintings honoring the 124th New York Volunteer Infantry Regiment, the “Orange Blossoms,” formed in 1862 of Orange County men. The exhibit will be open through November. The 1841 Court House is located at 101 Main Street, Goshen. For more information on Storms and his artistry, visit www.kevinstorms.com.
