Kairos to perform Bach at monastery

West Park — Kairos: A Consort of Singers will present the third in its Bach Cantata series with a performance of Cantata No. 182, Himmelskönig, sei willkommen, on Sunday, June 5, at 7 p.m. at Holy Cross Monastery, located on Route 9W, in West Park Under the direction of Dr. Edward Lundergan, the service will also feature “Pied Beauty” by composer and Kairos member Peter Sipple, and an instrumental chamber work by the Bach performed by bassist Phil Helm and harpsichordist James Fitzwilliam. The cantata and instrumental work are accompanied by chamber orchestra and will be performed as part of a choral evensong service. No tickets are required.
