MONROE — Enjoy an evening of theater and pie at The Playhouse at Museum Village, as the Creative Theatre–Muddy Water Players hosts a special performance of “The Mystery of Edwin Drood” to benefit the Friends of the Florida Public Library on Thursday, Sept. 21, beginning at 8 p.m. The play is a warm-hearted musical where the audience finishes the story that Charles Dickens didn’t. Rupert Holmes’s Tony Award-winning musical uses the world of music hall and melodrama as the backdrop for the exploits of this hilarious whodunit. When young Drood disappears one stormy Christmas Eve, murder is suspected, but who could have committed the crime? That is for the audience to decide. The production is also accompanied by a very special event at intermission: pie. A special offering of apple pies, ice cream, iced tea, coffee and cheTickets are $24 each and include dessert. They can be purchased at the Florida Public Library or from any member of the Friends of the Florida Public Library, cash or checks payable to the Friends of the Florida Public Library.
