Chester — Regional favorites The Right Hands, along with special guest Barry Weisenfeld on bass, will be the opening act for Machan in a concert at 8:30 p.m. on Friday, Nov. 2, at Bodles Opera House in Chester. The combined performances of these two acts will trace the evolution of Brazilian and Brazilian-influenced music beginning with The Right Hands’ interpretations of Choro (pre-samba jazz) flowing through to Machan’s elegant renderings of tunes influenced by the more modern, multi-faceted state of Brazilian music. You’ve probably heard Machan’s voice many times without realizing it. She has toured and recorded with Sting, Pat Benatar, Aretha Franklin, George Benson, Government Mule, and Pink Floyd. Recently, she decided to showcase her talents as a singer/songwriter and take her turn in the spotlight with the release of a new CD, “Motion of Love.” The CD features Machan’s vocals and a blend of smooth jazz with Brazilian rhythms. The Right Hands features mandolinist Wayne Fugate and guitarist Kevin Ege, who are combining their talent in an adventurous new exploration of jazz, Latin, bluegrass, Americana, and Celtic music. Bodles is located at 39 Main St. Tickets for the show are $12.50. For more information or reservations, call 469-4595.
