WARWICK — The Albert Wisner library will host a program on the art of Jasper Cropsey on Sunday, March 6, at 1 p.m.

Anthony Speiser, director of the Newington Cropsey Foundation, will give an overview of Cropsey's life and works, focusing on his time at Warwick.

Cropsey co-founded, with ten fellow artists, the American Society of Painters in Water Colors in 1866.

Three years later, Cropsey built a 29-room Gothic Revival mansion and studio in Warwick that he named Aladdin.

As well as living in New York City, he spent part of his time in Warwick until the mansion was sold in 1884. In 1885 he moved to Hastings-on-Hudson, which is where the Newington Cropsey Foundation is located.

This free program is open to all area residents, although registration is required.
