Goshen — The Harness Racing Museum and Hall of Fame in Goshen will hold its “Irish for a Day” children’s workshop from 10:30 a.m. to noon on Sunday, March 16. Children will meet Shamus Magee, the dancing Irish racehorse. They will hear his story as they paint a flowerpot and plant Bells of Ireland seeds. The beat of the Emerald Isle will inspire the children as they try step dancing. As always, a ride on the museum’s 3-D Harness Racing Simulator is included in the workshop. The cost of the program, appropriate for children ages 3 to 11, is $5 per child, with one accompanying adult admitted free. Reservations are required. Call 294-6330 for information and reservations. All museum visitors, including those attending the children’s workshop, are invited to enjoy hot tea and Irish soda bread before staking out just the right spot in front of the museum on Goshen’s Main Street to watch the Mid-Hudson St. Patrick’s Day Parade, to begin at 2 p.m. The museum is located at 240 Main St. in Goshen and is open daily from 10 a.m. to 5 p.m. Free admission is now offered for walk-in visitors and $4 person for full group tours.
